1) Karen is a new student at SIMS
2) On her first day of school, Karen wonders how to find a business
or biotech related event to attend after class, as she is new to the
area and doesn't have any other plans.
3) She decides to explore the student-developed resources linked from
the SIMS site, which were mentioned by a professor in class.
4) She sees the link to "Uniquely SIMS - Exploring the
Interdisciplinary Aspects of the Program" and is hopeful that this
may be the resource for which she is looking.
5) She clicks on the link to "Business", and sees photos of the Haas
Business school building, and all the professors who teach
SIMS-relevant classes. She notices a particular professor
leads a monthly talk on IT & Business, so she links to that
Professor's website to learn about his classes and projects.
6) She then clicks on the events link, which pulls up the global
calendar of events. She notices that there is a biotech seminar
tonight at Haas.
7) She clicks on the event and sees photos of the speakers and conference room.
8) Being new to the campus and unsure of the exact location of the
Haas building, Karen looks at the site's photo enhanced campus map to
see where SIMS is in relation to Haas.
9) The map has thumbnail pictures of all SIMS-related buildings. She
clicks on the Haas building and the route from the SIMS building to
Haas is highlighted. The thumbnail of Haas also enlarges so she can
see what building she should be looking for.
10) She chooses to print the directions from SIMS to Haas, which
includes where to turn and photos of important landmarks.
11) Karen hurries off to the conference with directions in hand.
