An experiment in the design of mobile media metadata and applications.

New Technology, New Frontiers

The Nokia 3650 is the cutting edge of mobile media capture devices: a digital still camera, digital video camera, XHTML browser, and cellular phone in a package that fits in your pocket. We have the hardware. Now what do we do with it?

Over the course of the Fall 2003 Semester, Wishter will attempt to answer that question in innovative ways. This site serves as our online headquarters, a place to record our thoughts and present our work to our instructors, classmates, and the world. Check back here often for updates on our progress.

Latest Developments

The initial phase of the Wishter project concluded in December 2003, when the Wishter team in conjunction with the Mobile Media Metadata group of Garage Cinema Research implemented a working demo of Wishter. If you have a Nokia 3650 camera phone, you can try it out by downloading and installing the Image Gallery software onto your phone and logging in at wishter.com with whatever username and password you like. (This is not guaranteed to be in working order.) Or you can just check out the Wishter users' guide.

The second phase of Wishter development will kick off Spring Semester 2003.
