Project Summary

     The creation of project teams for SIMS courses is costly because it is difficult to find the right members for a project team. Many SIMS students have skills from previous classes that they would like to practice, but they do not currently have an easy way to connect to the right project. People with ideas may email class lists to attempt to find team members; they may solicit classmates who may or may not be interested in the project. This method may be annoying and not highly effective since the majority of email recipients are not interested in participating.
     We propose to design an online project-matching interface for SIMS students to easily create project teams for different courses. For project purposes, we plan to focus the system on the SIMS classes with projects; however, it may be expanded to include projects outside of SIMS classes. This system will exist to put people with ideas and potential team members in touch with each other. We plan to have our site linked from a portal page such as the SIMS departmental page.
