Author Instructions

Below are the guidelines and pertinent information for publication of your paper(s) in SIGIR 99.

Full papers are restricted to 8 pages maximum; posters are restricted to two pages maximum.

Please note: It is of particular importance that you leave sufficient space in the lower left corner of the first column on the first page for ACM to fill in the copyright information.

Please submit camera-ready copy (produced on a high-resolution output device) of your manuscript on 8 1/2" x 11" paper following this proceedings format. Note that room must be left on the bottom of the lefthand column on the first page for the copyright notice, which ACM will fill in.

Proceedings templates are available in Word, WordPerfect, FrameMaker and LaTex. These templates are located at: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.

In addition, you must submit an electronic version of your paper for inclusion into the ACM Digital Library. Electronic submissions should be in PostScript or PDF.

The ACM copyright form must be signed and returned with your paper. ACM will not publish any paper that is not accompanied by a signed copyright form. In those cases where there is more than one author per paper, the first-named (assumed senior) author only must sign.

The full ACM Copyright policy, revised as of November 15, 1995, is available at http://www.acm.org/pubs/copyright_policy.html. Here is the copyright form itself. Here is a letter from ACM on the copyright policies.

Authors of full papers should federal express or mail their papers and signed copyright forms to be received by Barbara Goto by May 4 at the following address:
